The Unmet Health Need
- Digestive and gut health is one of pet parents' biggest concerns.
- Over 90% of pet parents say gut health is a critical need. And in cats specifically, gastrointestinal upset is the leading driver of vet visits.
- Yet, current solutions demonstrate limited efficacy: their effects stay localized in the gut, their mode of action is often unclear, and their results depend heavily on each pet’s individual diet and microbiome.
Our Key Insight
- Indole compounds are uniquely produced by a healthy gut microbiome, circulate systemically throughout the pet’s body, and elicit a wide range of positive health benefits across the gut, skin, and immune system.
- They constitute an important and previously unharnessed modality to support pet health at its root.
Our Development Process
- Through high-throughput screening of our proprietary biobank, we identified microbial strains with exceptional indole metabolism capabilities.
- We optimized the fermentation process to maximize beneficial indole yields while ensuring stability.
- We then validated the ingredient’s efficacy in three double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical studies, measuring stool quality and gut microbiome composition.
- The result: industry-leading efficacy across stool quality and gut microbiome in just a few weeks in dogs and cats.
